Jenna Avenell, Founder & Instructor
Texas native Jenna Avenell founded Fancy Feet Ballroom in 2013 with the belief that "it's never too late to learn how to dance!" She began dancing in her early twenties and it completely changed her life. As someone who grew up playing sports rather than taking dance classes, Jenna is living proof that great dancers can be developed through proper training. She had always loved to dance, but prior to her training, Jenna was not confident dancing in front of others and had no idea how to dance with a partner.
Shortly after moving from Tampa to Las Vegas in 2003, Jenna was introduced to Ballroom & Latin dancing. It quickly became her passion and like many people, she became an addict! Jenna has trained with many great instructors and studio owners since 2003 to broaden her teaching knowledge; including the completion of the Smooth quarter at Ballroom Dance Teacher's College and "Move Like a Pro" while living in San Francisco, CA. Her dynamic and magnetic personality combined with her strong desire to share her skills and excitement with others makes her an excellent instructor for individuals and couples of all ages. Jenna has taught students ranging from age 6 - 91!
Jenna has choreographed routines as well as taught simple lead/follow skills for 1st dance as Bride/Groom, Father/Daughter dance, Mother/Son dance, as well as group dances for birthday parties, Quinceañeras & Cotillions. No matter what type of event you need to prepare for: Weddings, Holiday Parties, Galas, Company Events, Quinceañeras, Cotillions, Military Balls, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs or Proms; Jenna is the instructor of choice!
Before founding Fancy Feet Ballroom, Jenna's work experience includes Sales/Marketing in the payroll industry, as well as Chief Operating Officer and Controller at a San Francisco law firm. She combined her passion & training from both the business world and the world of dance, and that is how Fancy Feet Ballroom was born!

Brian Duggar, Lead Instructor
Both raised and trained in Texas, Brian specializes in Country Western dances; including Two-Step, Country Waltz & West Coast Swing, but he equally enjoys working with those preparing for an upcoming special event; no matter what dance is requested! Brian first trained with a traditional franchise dance studio for more than 10 years. While the dance training (for instructors) at this type of studio is top-notch, the focus and goals that are expected of the instuctors are not always favored by students and staff alike. Coming from a studio atmoshpere where they teach expendable dance steps and coax students to participate in costly competitions on a regular basis, Brian prefers the freedom that Fancy Feet Ballroom offers him so that he can teach his students dance figures that are relevant in the socal dance scene. He works privately with both men and women trying to refine their social dancing skills, as well as couples seeking to dance better together in any atmosphere.
Since it is true that a GOOD leader can lead ANYONE, and a GOOD follower can follow ANYONE, Brian centers his attention on teaching Leaders how to lead properly and Followers how to wait for and respond to the lead being given. Brian's wealth of knowledge and training background combined with his comittmented concentration while teaching his students makes him an outstanding option for both couples and individuals!
In addition to being an excellent Ballroom, Latin & Country dance instructor, Brian's full-time career is small to medium format printing.
Jason McClellan, Dance Instructor
San Antonio native Jason McClellan brings over 13 years of dance experience and training to Fancy Feet Ballroom. He specializes in American Rhythm & International Latin styles for both competitions and social dancing; as well as Wedding dances & Quinceañeras.
Jason focuses on teaching Newcomers the fundamentals since having a solid foundation of the basics is key for those wanting to achieve more. Jason's warm, upbeat & charismatic personality combined with his deep passion for teaching dance makes him an exceptional choice for couples and individuals at any age!
Prior to becoming a Ballroom & Latin dance instructor, Jason's previous career was Radio DJ.
